Qatar Airways flight attendants will be required to wear full Personal Protective Equipment or PPE in its flights, the airline has confirmed. Passengers will also be required to wear face masks throughout the duration of the flight. While other airlines just require their cabin crew to wear a face mask, hand gloves and goggles, Qatar Airways now joins a few global airlines that require flight attendants to wear PPEs, Philippine Airlines and AirAsia to name a few.

Qatar Airways flight attendants are now fully protected from viruses as much as possible with a full PPE. This includes a full-body hazmat-type gown, protective eye glasses similar to those worn in laboratories, face masks, and hand gloves, ensuring full protection. These PPEs will also be worn on top the flight attendants' uniforms.
Throughout this CoviD-19 pandemic, Qatar Airways continued to operate flights which have kept vital medical supplies flowing, and which have brought home stranded passengers. It is important that flight attendants are fully protected as they have the most exposure to passengers, especially during long-haul flights.
Emirates was the first Middle East airline to require flight attendants to don PPEs during flights. Eva Air was the first airline in the world to announce that their flight attendants will be mandated to wear PPE. Local carriers Philippine Airlines, AirAsia, and Skyjet now provide full PPEs for their cabin crew.
